Indian Tandoori Chef

The Indian Tandoori Chef is required to know well about Tandoori cuisines and to cook fantastic meals with your talent at all times. 

Avitivities & Responsibilities

· Preparation, cooking and presenting dishes within your specialty

· Assist with stock ordering and monitoring procedures

· Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety at all times

· Participate fully in all meetings, training and forums

· Take responsibility for your own personal development

· Demonstrate excellent food preparation practices, portion control and end to end food production

· Supporting the Head Chef to deliver on all company measures & targets

· Follow all company operational kitchen process and procedures, achieving all required standards

· Take responsibility for delivering the highest measures of food production and presentation to customers including manning the live cooking stations if required

· Monitor food consumption to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and minimum waste

· Support the Head Chef in the introduction of new seasonal dishes

· Cascade your knowledge and expert cooking to all kitchen staff

· Suggested innovation and commercially viable ideas to improve food quality

· Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins

· Perform any reasonable duties as required from time to time in order to contribute to the achievement of business aims and objectives

Minimum Qualification

· Two or more years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking

· Able to communicate effectively with managers and kitchen personnel

· Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds

· Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)

· Experience in a similar style of cooking

· Excellent knowledge of relevant food and health & safety regulations

Prep Cook

Cook and prepare a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prep List. 

Activities & Responsibilities

· Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Indian Bistro 14: Committed to using the finest ingredients in our recipes

· Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.

· Understand and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.

· Clean and sanitize work station area including tables, shelves, walls grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.

· Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.

· Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, or desserts, according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures in ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of kitchen equipment.

· Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers.

· Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving.

· Place food trays over food warmers for immediate service or store them in refrigerated storage cabinets.

Minimum Qualification

· One or more years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking

· At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity

· Able to communicate effectively with managers and kitchen personnel

· Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds

· Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)

· Excellent knowledge of relevant food and health & safety regulations

Wait Staff

This position takes orders from guests, serves drinks and ensures the overall guest experience is exceeded. The ultimate goal is to ensure that our guests enjoy their visit at Indian Bistro 14. 

Activities & Responsibilities

· Assume 100% responsibility for quality guests’ experience

· Prepare tables for meals, including the complete set up of linens, silverware, and napkins.

· Greet guests in a professional manner and provide education about the food and beverage, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods as well as allergen information.

· Present menus, make specific recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages and food to the guests.

· Check beverages for quality and presentation before serving to guest.

· Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return

· Clear and clean tables promptly according to proper sanitation standards

· Perform any reasonable duties as required from time to time in order to contribute to the achievement of business aims and objectives

· Keep yourself aware of new promotions, menu changes, system or equipment changes, new procedures, policy changes, and company development.

Key Behavior

· Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members

· Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests

· Must be able to work unsupervised in a fast-paced restaurant environment

· Must be available to work as late as midnight or later if necessary

· Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).

· Be able to safely lift and carry trays filled with multiple dishes and drinks

· Must possess the ability to recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure

· Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed.

· Be willing to work overtime when needed and assist the workload of others
